Brazil's largest Airline, Azul, now with weekly flight to Curaçao

June 26, 2023 marked a momentous occasion as the Azul Airlines plane, adorned with the iconic design of our Handelskade waterfront, touched down in Curaçao, establishing a direct link between Belo Horizonte in Brazil and our beautiful island. Azul Airlines, Brazil's largest airline in terms of flights and destinations, will operate a weekly flight to Curaçao using an Airbus A320 aircraft with a seating capacity of 174. Departing from BH Airport in Belo Horizonte every Saturday at 1:00 PM, the flight will arrive in Curaçao at 6:00 PM. Return flights from Curaçao will take off on Sundays at 8:30 AM, reaching Belo Horizonte by 4:00 PM. To celebrate the inaugural flight, the aircraft was welcomed with the traditional water salute.

During the festivities, Mr. Vitor Silva, Azul Airlines' General Manager of Network and Strategic Planning, delivered exciting news to the gathered dignitaries and guests. Additional flights will be added to the schedule in October and November, and starting December 2023, the frequency will double to twice a week. This announcement was met with great enthusiasm.

The introduction of Azul Airlines' flights is a response to the growing demand from the Brazilian market. It opens up new possibilities for tourists, allowing them to experience the wealth of offerings in Curaçao, including a diverse range of accommodations, captivating tourist attractions, breathtaking beaches, a vibrant history, various events, thrilling water sports, delectable local and international cuisine, and above all, our warm and welcoming people. The weekly flight on Saturdays from BH Airport in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, with perfect connection with Rio Janeiro and Sao Paolo, also opens up incredible business opportunities between the two countries.
